ROPA Method

The ROPA method is an assisted reproductive option designed to allow female couples to actively share the process of motherhood. This method allows one woman to provide the eggs, which are fertilized with donor sperm, and the other to carry the pregnancy, creating a special bond between them as they build their family.

ROPA Method Process at Clínica Medrano

  1. Medical Evaluation: Both couples undergo a complete medical evaluation to determine their eligibility for the ROPA Method.
  2. Ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval: One of the women (the one who will provide the eggs) undergoes a controlled ovarian stimulation process to produce multiple mature eggs. The eggs are then retrieved through a brief surgical procedure.
  3. Egg Microinjection: The retrieved eggs are fertilized in the laboratory with donor sperm to create embryos.
  4. Embryo Transfer: We select the highest quality blastocyst for transfer to the uterus of the other woman, who will carry the pregnancy. Any remaining good-quality embryos will be frozen.
  5. Follow-up and support: Our specialized medical team provides follow-up and support throughout the entire process, ensuring that both mothers feel supported and well cared for.
